Many residents of Southern California have orange trees in their yards. They are as common as Maple trees in Vermont. Our oranges are usually ready to pick in December. After picking our oranges, we soaked them in vinegar water in the sink and scrubbed them with a sponge. Since we harvested an entire tree full of oranges, we will have have enough to eat as fresh produce, share with neighbors and make orange-cranberry muffins!
